Every unique fare product imported across the uploaded fare datasets can be seen by clicking the ‘Products’ left-hand menu item. These are determined by ID and we recommend that you look at this list as it gives an overview of what could be displayed in journey plans.

Changing product names

The product names for on-bus fares are taken directly from the NeTEx dataset and sometimes these may not be customer friendly or aligned with the language used across apps and websites. These can be updated in Passenger Cloud, with any changes then displayed in journey plans.

To do this you need to go back into the main Fares screen and select ‘Products’ from the left-hand menu item.

Clicking on this will display all of the products imported from the fare datasets. All the products are displayed in a table format showing the ID, Display name and whether or not that specific product is included in fare search results.

You can click on any of these products to change the display name. These changes will be reflected across the different preview tools in Passenger Cloud and in the journey plan that users see.

Remove products from search results

Some operators may have fare products that they do not want to display to customers in the search results in Journey Planner, such as shadow fares. Operators can control which products are displayed by ticking or unticking the ‘Include in search results' on the same screen as changing the display name.

These changes will be reflected across the different preview tools in Passenger Cloud, and in the journey plan that users see.
