As you’ll be aware there will be an extra bank holiday on Monday 8th May across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland due to the Coronation of King Charles III. This will result in a three-day bank holiday weekend.
What steps do you need to take?
The additional Coronation Bank holiday (2023-05-08) is not listed in TXC as a named day and needs to be coded as an “OtherPublicHoliday”
Update your TransXChange files to reflect this
Upload your dataset to Passenger Cloud
Preview timetables in the draft dataset before publishing
Please remember that your TransXChange also needs to be updated with other suppliers and should match what Passenger are given, to ensure this is correctly matched to other sources such as real time feeds.
We advise operators to undertake these actions as early as possible, or at least by the week commencing 17th April. This gives you the best opportunity to find and resolve any issues and avoid incorrect data being presented to your customers.
For further information on Managing Data Activity in Passenger Cloud, please see the Help Desk article Operating profiles.
RTIG has published advice on how to prepare data for BODS and other data consumers to ensure that it is correct for the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort bank holiday on 8 May 2023.
